Lots of Good Stuff

As we begin a new year together I am excited to tell you about all the changes and improvements in the Religious Education Program at All Souls. It has been a busy and productive summer! It has also been a quiet one. I can’t wait to see all of you returning with spirit and joy on September 10th!
  • We have a brand-new website! It is designed to let you more easily know everything going on in the religious education program at All Souls. There is information for parents, resources for teachers, up-to-the-minute announcements and alerts about the happenings in our program, and more! The new website is www.allsoulsreligioused.org. Check it out! I will add pictures to the website once I have received permission.
  • We have set up a texting system so that we can let you know about upcoming events or changes to programming. Please contact josette@allsoulsnyc.org to add your phone number to the list.
  • We will not be mailing out calendars this year. Please visit the new website at www.allsoulsreligioused.org for all the information you will need about the upcoming year including a Calendar of Sundays that you can print and hang on your refrigerator.
  • This year we are adding more social justice activities to the calendar. Each month our families will have the opportunity to participate in a social action activity like living on a $1.50 a day like Syrian refugees or wearing pink for standing up against bullying. Check (you guessed it) the new website for more information on these activities. In addition, we will continue to provide sandwiches and desserts to Monday Night Hospitality.
  • Chapel will now be only at 11:00 to 11:15 and all ages (including parents) are welcome!
  • In addition to the Single Parents Support Group we will be adding Parents of Special Needs Children and a Multi-Gen Soul Matters Group. These all start in October.
  • We have new staff! Please introduce yourself to Josette Trombetta, the new RE Assistant; Chris Vesenka, our new Youth Program Coordinator for high school youth; and Matthew Williamson, the new drama teacher. In addition, James Backmon of the New Amsterdam Boys and Girls Choir will be leading the All Souls Children’s Choir.
  • And, of course, we welcome Rev. Audette and her family to All Souls!
